When it's time to stop driving, the car shouldn't be a burden.
Giving up the keys is a hard, loving decision. Selling the car afterward should be the easy part — we come to the house, welcome the whole family, and handle every bit of the Florida paperwork.
The car doesn't have to sit there losing value.
When a parent or spouse stops driving — after a fall, a diagnosis, a doctor's conversation, or simply because it's time — the car often sits in the carport for months while everyone focuses on more important things. That's completely understandable. But a car left sitting quietly loses value: the battery dies, the tires flat-spot, the registration lapses, and insurance keeps billing.
We make selling it a single, unhurried visit. There's no lot to drive to and no pressure. We look the vehicle over right in the driveway or community lot, hand over a fair written offer that's good for seven days, and — only when your family is ready — handle the title, pay on the spot, and take the car away.
Built for these exact situations.
- We come to the home. Your loved one doesn't have to go anywhere or ride along to a dealership. Driveway, garage, or Kings Point community lot — wherever the car is.
- Family is welcomed, not pushed aside. Invite a son, daughter, or advisor. We're glad to explain every number and walk through it together, and we'll never rush a decision.
- Any condition is fine. Hasn't started in a year? Flat tires, dead battery, expired tag? No problem — we bring our own transport.
- We do the paperwork. Florida title transfer, odometer disclosure, and bill of sale are all handled at the kitchen table — you never visit a DMV office.
- You get a clean record. A written offer, bill of sale, and payment record for the family's files — useful whether you're managing a parent's affairs now or keeping things organized for later.
Plates, title, and insurance — what actually happens.
A few Florida-specific things trip families up. Here's how they work, and what we take care of for you:
The license plate stays with your family
In Florida the plate belongs to the person, not the vehicle. We remove it before we take the car, and you keep it — to move to another vehicle, or to surrender to your county tax collector if it's no longer needed. Surrendering the plate is also the clean way to stop future registration renewal notices.
Insurance can be cancelled once it's sold
Once the sale is done we give you a signed bill of sale. That's what your insurer needs to cancel the auto policy (and often issue a refund for unused premium) — money that's otherwise quietly draining every month a stopped car sits insured.
If your loved one can't sign
If you hold a valid power of attorney, we can work with you directly. If a court has appointed a guardian, we work with the guardian. We'll tell you plainly what your situation needs under Florida law and coordinate with your attorney at no charge — this is something we handle often and with care.
Straight, kind answers.
My parent can no longer sign for themselves. Can we still sell the car?
Often yes. With a valid power of attorney we can work with you directly; with a court-appointed guardian we work with the guardian. We'll tell you plainly what Florida requires for your situation and coordinate with your attorney at no charge.
The car has been sitting for a year or two. Is it still worth selling?
Yes — and sooner is better. A car loses value the longer it sits with flat tires, a dead battery, and aging fluids. Well-kept, garage-stored Florida vehicles often earn more than families expect. We buy it as-is and bring our own transport.
What happens to the license plate and the insurance?
The plate belongs to the person, not the car, so it stays with your family — we remove it before we take the vehicle. You keep it to transfer or surrender to the tax collector. We give you a signed bill of sale so you can cancel the insurance and stop future registration notices.
I live out of state. Can I handle my parent's car by phone?
Yes. About half our calls come from adult children coordinating from another state. We arrange everything by phone and email, keep you on the line for the visit, and send you the written offer, bill of sale and payment record.
There's still a small loan on the car. Does that stop us?
No. We handle lien payoffs regularly — we confirm the payoff with the lender, pay them directly, and pay your family the difference, all in writing.
One kind, unhurried visit.
